Baby and Budget Friendly Diapers

Mamas I finally found it! The diaper that is both easy on my baby’s bottom and my bank account! While I was pregnant I read about all the harmful chemicals in so many household and skin care products including diapers and wipes. I made sure all of Cora Beth’s shampoo, soaps, lotions, and diaper creams were free of the harmful chemicals. I even bought her an organic mattress and mattress cover. But for some reason I stuck with a big name brand diapers and wipes.

Fast forward to Cora Beth being a few months old with a persistent diaper rash and if we tried any other big name brand other than the one she came home from the hospital in, her bottom immediately looked as if it had been burned! I finally made the switch over to Honest Co diapers. Her rash cleared up by the end of the first day! And while they are oh so cute and work just as well as the big name brands they aren’t as friendly on the budget! We also tried Seventh Generation and Babyganics diapers and wipes, and again worked great cheaper than Honest Co but still a little pricier than their chemical filled counterparts.

While wondering Target one day their Up & Up brand sensitive skin wipes caught my eye. I looked over the package and I couldn’t believe what I found! The were hypoallergenic and free of chlorine, sulfates, parabens, petroleum, perfumes and dyes! So I looked over at their diapers and found the same thing! I decided to buy one pack of wipes and the smallest pack of diapers they had to try them out. I’m not going to lie I was so skeptical and SO nervous! The last thing I wanted to do was give my baby girl a painful rash on her super sensitive bottom!

I’m beyond happy to report that they did NOT give her a rash (praise the Lord!) and held up amazingly! She even had one on for 12 hours one night and it didn’t leak! Why they don’t advertise these diapers and wipes more is beyond me! What makes me even more excited? They’re cheaper than the most popular diapers! Plus you can get an additional 5% off with a red card and if you choose to do the delivery subscription you get an additional 5% off!

While I of course would continue to buy the more expensive chemical-free diapers for the sake of my baby’s bottom I’m one happy mama that I don’t have to! I’ll miss the cute prints that Honest Co has but with the money I save I can spend it on cute clothes or other chemical-free products (Honest healing balm is amazing!). Go on and give those Up & Up diapers a try, because we could all use more reasons to go to Target!

  1. Who knew?! I always kind of assumed being an “off” brand that they wouldn’t be safe…🙈 Definitely will be giving them a try!

  2. Looooove that! My girl is the same and we’ve had to use a name brand this whole time. I have to say though, haven’t tried Target brand and now that I think of it, I’m kind of surprised that I haven’t! Thanks for sharing. 🙂

  3. Thank you for the helpful information. My friend has used Target diapers for a while and loves them. I do love the cute prints on honest diapers too but hate the price! Love how these are affordable.
