I won’t lie, one of my favorite things about being a girl mom is the outfits and the bows! Just give me everything pink and girly! While I don’t put a bow on Cora Beth every day (mostly because we’re hanging out in our pjs 5 out of 7 days a week) when I do I have to use headbands since little miss doesn’t quite have a whole lot of hair yet! And if you’ve shopped for bows you know they can get pricey pretty quick! I did buy one white and one black bow from Baby Bling Bows because I love them! But they can look a tad big on her little bitty head so I sometimes opt for a smaller bow! I set out to make my own to save a little money and since I was successful I wanted to share with y’all how to diy a simple baby bow headbands for you to make your little one!
What you’ll need:
- nylon headband (I bought some precut from etsy but you could always buy some nylon tights and cut your own!)
- ribbon of your choice
- hot glue gun
- clear nail polish
This is seriously so simple you might even laugh at me a little! Just find some ribbon you like and tie a bow! I really wanted some velvet ribbon bows for Cora Beth! I found all 3 colors plus the lace looking ribbon at Hobby Lobby! Since the ribbon isn’t velvet on both sides I did have to play with it a little to get it to show on the front for both sides of the bow!
Then put a little bit of clear nail polish on the ends to keep it from fraying!
Put a dab of hot glue on the back of the bow, add your headband and your done!
Easy peasy and my wallet is thanking me! I love being able to make these baby bow headbands custom to the outfits I have for her! These would also make a great addition to a baby shower gift!
Until next time,
